Lanzerac Estate, originally named ‘Schoongezicht’ (meaning ‘wonderful view') was established in 1692 just thirteen years after Stellenbosch itself. Its first owner planted the very first vineyards and the winemaking history on the property was born. It has changed many hands and seen many upgrades over the years before finally being purchased by its current owners in 2012. Today, the property is complete with a five-star hotel, bars, restaurants and even a day spa and stands as the third oldest farm in the area. This wine is inspired by and dedicated to Professor Abraham Perold, who created the first Pinotage wine in 1925 but never got to taste his creation. Made from 60% Cinsault and 40% Pinot Noir, it is a delicate yet complex red bursting with notes of red fruit including tangy cherry. Pair this wine with spicy charcuterie or a fruit platter.
