Lavis dates back to 1850 when the Cembran family started it as a wine-making cooperative and established methods of production still utilized today. It was officially formed in 1948 by 14 independent winemakers and has only grown in the years since. In 1969 they merged with the Salorno Cooperative of South Tyrol and then merged with Cantina Sociale di Cembra in 2003. This savory, mineral driven white is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc that benefits from the fluctuating daily temperatures, presevering the grapes aromatic qualities. You can expect tasting notes of elderberry, peach and ripe fruit and its full body makes it a great pairing with grilled crustaceans or Greek baked cod.
