The Occhipinti brothers released their first vintage in 2022 after taking over for their father, who was one of the pioneers of natural winemaking in Sicily. This wine is the flagship, and bears the most prestigious DOCG designation in Sicily- 'Cerasuolo di Vittoria'. A 50/50 blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes, this wine is a true expression of the authenticity and tradition of this region. Fermentation takes place with native yeast in concrete, and the wine is aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by 6 months aging in the bottle. In the glass, expect to find notes of wild strawberry, pomegranate, accented with a touch of earth and dried Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, expect fresh acidity and refined tannins, in addition to red fruit flavors and delicate spice. Best paired with arancini or pasta alla Norma.
