2018

Burgundy, France

For more than 150 years, the House of Louis Jadot has been producing exceptional red and white Burgundy wines across a wide range of vineyards, villages and cru levels, and has earned its reputation as one of the most widely revered producers in the Cote d'Or. The pedigreed vineyards of Pommard, located just southwest of the village of Beaune, are known for producing more structured, muscular Pinot Noir, with plenty of power and aging potential. 2018 is considered an excellent vintage for Burgundian wine, with ideal conditions during both the growing season and the harvest season - ample sunshine and limited rainfall and ideal conditions allowed for grapes that were fully ripened, concentrated and able to be picked at the growers’ preferred timing rather than early or late to accommodate poor weather conditions. On the nose, you will find a highly aromatic bouquet of fresh strawberries, cherry compote, woodsy underbrush and sweet tobacco. On the palate this wine is silky and seductive, with velvety tannins and well integrated flavors of plush red fruit, cocoa and baking spice. It can be enjoyed now, but will continue to develop beautifully for many years to come.
