Chablis as a region is one of the northernmost in all of France. It is planted exclusively to Chardonnay and has seen a very parabolic history. Currently Chablis is producing some of the absolute BEST white wines in the world. Chablis is best enjoyed old or young. It tends to go through an awkward phase (let's call it “middle school” where it is trying to decide what it wants to be. Louis Michel Les Clos is immune to this paradigm and out performs the other Grand Cru of Chablis.
