Maculan started as an Osteria, or Italian small wine bar, in the 1920s until the winery itself was founded in 1947 and since then, it has been family owned and operated. Maculan's terroir is made up volcanic soils with hilly terrain which creates mineral rich wines. This full-bodied red is blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and contains notes of blackberry, dark cherry and a hint of oak from the barrel aging. Pair with a hearty stew or grilled meats.
