This Spanish winery was established in 1910 by Don Román Montaña and his grandchildren still run the winery today. They utilize organic and sustainable practices, in an effort to keep intervention minimal. This red is made from 90% Tempranillo, 7% Mazuelo and 3% Viura grown on 40 year old vines in calcerous-clay soils. After being aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels, it ages another 14 months in the bottle. Expect to find tasting notes of fresh red and black fruit, leather and earth. It pairs well with small game dishes or aged cheeses.
