Santa Lucia Highlands, California
Pinot Noir
Five vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands contributed grapes to this wine, including Morgan's organic Double L vineyard, which provided 67% of the fruit. Grapes were hand-sorted in the vineyard and again at the winery before being destemmed and undergoing whole-berry fermentation with native yeast. The final wine rested for nine months in French oak barrels, 33% of which were new. Typical flavors of black cherry, baking spices, with a hint of sassafras. The crisp acid lends an immense drinkability, and makes this Pinot a great wine to pair with roasted chicken or grilled salmon.
