Located in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa region, Bodegas Ostatu makes wines ruled by three concepts: blending tradition, forward thinking, and perseverance. These Tempranillo grapes come from 50+ year old vines and perfectly express high altitude, mountainous terroir. After a manual harvest and 21 day fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is transferred into 50% new, 50% neutral oak barrels where it ages for 16 months. This unfiltered Rioja offers classic notes of vanilla and blackberry, with some dusty herbal and tomato leaf notes to balance it out. Pair with a loaf of fresh baked bread and a NY Strip steak.
