The Piancornello estate is certified organic and is one of Montalcino’s oldest producers of Brunello di Montalcino. Their Rosso di Montalcino, while produced with their younger Sangiovese vines, still impresses, delivering a layered, complex wine with excellent depth and a beautiful symphony of fresh-picked cherries, red currants, dried tobacco, baking spice and sandalwood, and pairs well with braised meats or a creamy mushroom risotto.
