Family owned for more than 100 years, Piekenierskloof is situated between West and East-facing hills, sitting at 750 meters above sea level in the Citrusdal Mountain plateau. An exemplary native environment for vines to thrive, the natural climate in this area is defined by warm days and cool nights, all of which allows grapes to steadily ripen, maturing to develop complex flavors. Made from 100% Pinotage, this wine is an excellent example of the country's native grape. This full-bodied red has tasting notes of dark red fruit, ripe cherries and plums. Aged in Oak barrels for 12 months before being bottled, it pairs well with a South African Kudu fillet, beef steak or venison. Enjoy now or allow to cellar for 5-8 years.
