Pikasi borders Slovenia and is set in steep hills just north of the Italian city, Trieste. This practicing organic winery has no irrigation and spraying is only done with sulfites and copper if needed. Made from 100% Barbera, the grapes are hand-picked, aged in neutral oak barrels for 12 months before being transferred to stainless steel tanks and aged for 6-11 months. Tasting notes of cherry, raspberry, blackberry, white pepper and a touch of fennel, this wine is great to bring to a summer BBQ and pairs well with sausage, ribs, kebabs or even pizza. Enjoy now or cellar for a few years.
