In the hills of Montalcino, nestled between 175 and 500 meters above sea level, you can find the estate of Poggio Landi. This 100% Sangiovese is vinified in the traditional way, with the winemaker allowing spontaneous fermentation for 15 days at a controlled temperature, before letting the wine age in small untoasted French oak barrels for 12 months. The final result is a silky, rich wine with notes of dusty black cherry, aged pipe tobacco, and a lengthy finish that is immensely drinkable.
