Pomalo Wine Co is named for a common cultural outlook in Dalmatia that matches their coastal island lifestyle. They are known to say, “take it easy, relax, slow down, and have no worries!” A lesser-known winemaking region for many U.S. consumers, the Slavonija appellation produces world class wines. The region benefits from a continental climate – hot, dry summers and cold, snowy winters. The area also has mineral-rich volcanic and sandy soil with white clay stones over a bedrock of slate and granite. The wine is made from 100% Frankovka (Blaufrankisch) and sees 7-14 days of skin contact before being racked for 4-6 months and aged on fine lees in stainless steel. Fruity notes including red cherries and berries complemented by eastern spices make this rosé the perfect wine for summer relaxation like bonfires and grilling on the beach.
