Criolla Chica
Mendoza, Argentina
Brothers Hector and Pablo Durigutti bought their first 5 hectares of historical vineyards in 2007 and have been creating remarkable wines in the Mendoza region of Argentina ever since. Built on a philosophy centered around respect, passion, compromise, excellence, singularity, and evolution, the brothers are motivated to explore the land and create enticing, high-quality wines. Utilizing the Criolla Chica variety of grape grown on 100 year old vines and fermented in concrete eggs using native yeasts, this still red wine opens with notes of sweet cherries, pink grapefruit, and a hint of red flowers alongside high acidity and velvety tannins. This wine has a delicate finish and pairs well with roasted lamb, mushroom and umami-based dishes, and grilled vegetables.
