Originally bought as a christening present for matriarch Claire, Quinta de la Rosa has been operating since the early 20th century. After being passed down to Tim and Sophia (son and granddaughter of Claire), the first production of port began again in 1988. Now Sophia has continued on her late fathers legacy and continues to produce beautiful, high quality wines. The winery is practicing organic and grows mainly in schist soils. ‘douRosa’ is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Cao. As you sip, you’ll find notes of bright red fruit, fine tannins, and a touch of herbaceousness. This is a perfect pairing for any barbeque dishes.
