Located in Salento, Roso del Golfo was founded in 1963 solely to make rosé, which was not really popular in these parts at the time. Since then they have begun to produce dense and dark reds like this Primitivo, which is genetically the same grape as Zinfandel. This is just a more tannic and aggressive style that begs for a plate of pasta and red sauce.
