Located in Piedmont in the village of Barolo, this third generation family owned winery is made up of just 5 hectares. Since taking over his family’s estate in 2001, Frederico Scarzello has focused on quality wines and the unique terroir of the Piedmont region. However, he has been known to ferment his wines 10 degrees cooler than what is traditional for Piedmont and also release them a year later than others in the region. Tasting notes of blueberries, blackberry compote, dried thyme, rosemary and a slightly floral finish create an elegant and bright Dolcetto that truly drinks above its weight class. Pair this light red with charcuterie or slow cooked pork belly.
