Owned by husband and wife duo Jane and Dave Lello, the wine estate was founded in 1999 with Jane stepping in to head the winery in 2016. Stellekaya has grown to become a globally recognized brand in large thanks to Jane’s tireless work to showcase their wines to the world. This full-bodied wine is a blend of 33% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Malbec, and 17% Cabernet Franc. This wine goes through a cold maceration to preserve the flavor before fermentation, with fermentation taking place using the traditional “pigeage” or “punch down” method. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels. Notes of black fruit, strawberries, and wild berries are met with soft tannins and a touch of charcoal in the finish. Pair with oxtail stew, hearty tomato sauces, and tiramisu.
