Sturm’s 2023 Chardonnay “Andritz” is an ode to the family’s homelands of Austria while also being a vibrant expression of Collio, Italy. The family creates wines full of personality. Literally! The Andritz wine is said to be a Libra and its favorite color is orange. The Libra star graces the label. About 30% of the wine spends time in neutral oak to add subtle complexity, while the remainder rests in stainless steel to maintain freshness and minerality. Aromas are creamy and inviting, with hints of buttery bread crust, and lemon. On the palate, bright lemon tart, ripe apple, flint, and a touch of brûléed richness mingle beautifully. This medium-to-full-bodied Chardonnay shows elegance, depth, and charm in every sip. Serve chilled but not too cold and pair with rich white fish, like sea bass or grouper or roasted chicken with herbs.
