Thistle & Weed was founded in 2015 and is run by viticulturist Etienne Terblanche and winemaker Stephanie Wiid. They are proud of their Cape heritage and work hard to leave the land better than they found it. Each wine in their collection is named after a favorite nuisance weed, using the slang Afrikaans term. This wine in particular is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grown on 60-year-old vines and named after 'Devil's Thorn', a small weed that grows in the vineyards. Aged for 9 months in oak barrels, you can expect a subtle depth and tasting notes of peach and citrus. Pair with creamy risottos, spicy Indian dishes or roasted chicken.
