Nestled in the mountainous region of Valdeorras in Galicia, Valdesil’s history dates back to 1885, when Jose Ramon Gayoso planted his first parcels of vines on the property. Today, his descendants continue to produce quality wines with local grape varieties from the same slate-based, hillside vineyard sites. This 100% Mencia is deep in color with notes of blackberries, tart cherries, spice and hints of graphite, accompanied by ripe tannins and a racy, mineral-driven finish. Enjoy with seared lamb shanks, pastrami sandwiches or Manchego cheese!
