Vigna Madre’s Kriya Montepulciano d’Abruzzo comes from the Di Carlo family, one of Abruzzo’s pioneers in organic and biodynamic viticulture. Their vineyards lie between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine mountains, where ocean breezes and mountain air create ideal balance for ripe yet vibrant fruit. “Kriya,” a Sanskrit word meaning “action through awareness,” reflects their mindful and eco-friendly approach to winemaking, including minimal intervention, deep respect for the land, and using recycled materials. This Montepulciano bursts with black cherries and is accented with flint and smoke. Medium-bodied and silky, it finishes with fine tannins and savory depth. Perfect with Abruzzese favorites like lamb ragù, baked manicotti, or a hearty chickpea tomato stew drizzled with olive oil.
