50% Aragonez, 30% Touriga Nacional, 20% Alicante Bouschet
FitaPreta is in the Alentejo region of southeastern Portugal and is known for its ability to grow a wide variety of grapes. The winemaker at FitaPreta, Antonio Maçanita, has a reputation for playfulness, curiosity, and meticulous intensity, yielding creative, world-class wines. ‘Carta Da FitaPreta is a blend of sustainably farmed 50% Aragonez, 30% Touriga Nacional, and 20% Alicante Bouschet that has been hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts. The grapes are vinified separately with a 14-day skin contact and then aged in 50% stainless steel and 50% French oak barrels for 10 months. Notes of violets, black currant, and brambleberry are met with a long, mineral finish. Pair with aged cheese and charcuterie, coffee-crusted prime rib, or a goat curry.
